There is no greater demonstration of Mother Nature’s power than the eruption of a volcano. The volatile and unpredictable landscape breeds powerful emotions and even more powerful energy. Fueled by determination and adrenaline, I was drawn to the source of the power. Daylight was rapidly approaching, and I knew I had to get the shot. Watching a volcano in daylight, is much like watching fireworks during the day time, they lose their magic. So I knew I had only a few minutes to shoot. With every critical moment passing, I captured the glowing embers in the plume. The long exposure time, along with the combination of quick movement and searing heat gave the bright reds of this image a majestic, painterly feel.Â
