I had photographed this Molokai beach at dawn several times before, each visit rewarding me with incredible light and color. This time, I wanted a more dramatic feel, so I chose a vertical composition — a challenge with the panoramic camera, as it can often distort perspective. In this case, though, the effect worked beautifully.
The palm trees rose tall in the foreground, guiding the viewer’s eye toward the horizon along the gentle curve of the shoreline. The vertical frame added power and depth to the scene, transforming a familiar location into something bold and new. Romantic Skies captures the harmony between sky, sea, and land — a moment of perfect balance on Hawaii’s untouched coast.
