After spending a week searching for a different perspective of Monument Valley, I finally found a location that I felt right about. I chose a vertical angle for strong composition and power. Pristine sand patterns glowed in the foreground and followed my eye up to the monument. Late afternoon light added strong color contrast to the image. I had waited all day for just the right moment and with five magic minutes, I had to work fast. I cranked roll after roll through the camera as the light faded rapidly. The silence was broken only by my footsteps as I left the scene.
