Jewels In The Crown

Manhattan, New York
I felt like spiderman accessing the rooftops of New York City. Access to the magic vantage point was always the challenge. The rooftop of this MetLife building was no exception. This is an Epic view that very few people get to see. I wanted to be eye to eye with the Chrysler building, looking down on it, rather than up which every tourist sees from. The challenge was all the phone calls, emails, escorts, wait, wait, and wait… not really in my vocabulary! It paid off eventually. Two massive security guards met me in the lobby and watched me like a hawk on the rooftop. The view was off the charts. Gale force winds ripped around the wide open rooftop causing me huge drama with camera movement. There was nothing I could do. I just had to shot. What a view! As twilight lit, I shot like a madman and used a nodal point attached to my tripod to shoot the vast skyline. The shot was insane. A city of lights with a different view that really spoke to the time, colors and culture of New York.
